Expanding rapidly, our North Worcestershire clients are looking for an experienced or Junior Electrical Project Engineer to join their fast paced team, who operate across the UK with multiple sites across the country.

Main Purpose of position

  • To assist in the delivery of larger projects and lead smaller projects in a manner that allows ATS to meet the company objective of being the UK’s leading niche market HVAC provider while retaining the spiritual trinity of business intent, customer connection and employee experience

 Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Project Manager in delivering the project scope either specifically in a Mechanical / Electrical / M&E capacity. Being responsible on smaller projects.
  • Able to provide progress reports to the relevant stakeholders (Client / ATS Management)Reviewing and understanding the scope of works for mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls
  • Interpret and understand design documents including schedules, control philosophies and drawings
  • Liaising with numerous internal and external customers, along with relevant sub-contractors
  • Able to contribute to a Project Risk Register, addressing project risks adequately and proactively
  • Assisting the Project Manager with the costs of a project, including variations / changes to scope in accordance with the project specific contract. Including ensuring that the opening profit margin is exceeded
  • Raising Bid Tabs and progressing orders through to delivery
  • Ensuring the H&S requirements during the delivery of a project are met including the development of site specific RAMS
  • Read and understand project specifications
  • Read and understand engineer schedules and drawings
  • Understand and manage the quality requirements of a project and ensure the project ITP / Quality Plan is adhered to through the project, keeping accurate records
  • Attend FAT and ensure Controls function in accordance with project control philosophy
  • Attend FAT and check AHUs / fans meet requirements of supplier drawings and project specification (so checking dimensions, quality of mechanical and electrical work)

 

The person

  • Competent advanced user to write reports/emails, prepare documents and review data
  • Competency as a Project demonstrated through APM Fundamentals Qualification
  • Beginning to gain competency in NEC through completion of NEC Introduction Course
  • Competency in Leadership & Management demonstrated through ILM Level 3 Award
  • Technical competency demonstrated through relevant ONC
  • Competency in H&S demonstrated through CITB SMSTS (likely achieved in previous role) & IOSH Managing Safely
  • Autocad 2D Lvl 2 or above
  • Competency as a Project Manager demonstrated through APM Project Management Qualification
  • Competency in Leadership & Management demonstrated through ILM Level 3 Certificate
  • Technical competency demonstrated through enrolment in relevant degree or HNC
  • LEV System Design P601 (& possibly P602)
  • Competency in H&S demonstrated through NEBOSH General & Construction Certificates
  • Competency in Environment demonstrated through CITB Environment for Business
