Four Squared Recruitment are partnering with a Midlands based care and support charity in the recruit of an Employee Relations Business Partner to join their busy HR department. Reporting into the HR Manager you will be responsible for providing HR support and advice including Employee Relations, Employment Law, Absence Management and Performance Management issues.

You will have the opportunity to work alongside another ER Business Partner and HR Manager and lead on Learning and Development, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

Duties and responsibilities –

  • Being the key contact for a dedicated area of the business with the support of the HR Associates on all HR related enquiries
  • Completing employee relations casework including flexible working requests, investigations, disciplinary and grievance
  • Escalating complex casework to the HR Manager, whilst supporting the process
  • Leading on their specialist area of either L&D or EDI
  • Provide HR advice and support to managers in relation to HR policies and procedures and people management issues such as; absence; maternity; flexible working; conduct and capability; grievance and disciplinary issues; organisational change and other employee relations matters
  • Lead on investigations into disciplinary, grievance and absence management cases in line with corporate policies and procedures, providing coaching and support to managers involved in the process and liaison with associated parties
  • Provide coaching, support and advice to managers to enable effectiveness in line management role and dealing with ER and HR matters
  • In conjunction with the HR Manager, assist, support and liaise with appropriate line managers and staff on recruitment, TUPE, employment tribunals, and employment law issues and requirements, including paperwork preparation, consultation, training, briefing and advice
  • Support the HR Manager in reviewing existing HR and payroll policies and procedures; practices and processes, implementing continuous improvements where necessary
  • Ensure self and others are kept up to date with developments in employment legislation and human resources best practice, ensuring knowledge sharing within the team and organisation’s legislative compliance
  • Manage 2 x dedicated HR Associates

Skills and capabilities –

  • Experience of working in a busy HR environment
  • Working knowledge of Employee Relations and HR
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a pressurised environment
  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
  • CIPD qualified at Level 5 or above
