Reporting to – Finance Director

Role

The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, ensuring accurate reporting, effective financial planning, and compliance with relevant regulations. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with senior management to provide financial insights that drive business growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.

Duties

• Produce monthly management accounts for company and group
• Produce weekly performance updates for group
• Produce quarterly forecasting for P&L
• Assist with annual budget for P&L
• Produce monthly management accounts for group of companies
• Assist with annual audit and statutory accounts production
• Supervise accounts and purchasing team
• Overseeing payroll
• Manage company pension schemes and compliance
• Produce and submit quarterly VAT returns
• Manage and create letters of credit and bank guarantees
• Support FD with adhoc requests and general day to day running of the finance function

Experience/Qualification

• An ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant
• Project accounting experience
• Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to mentor and develop a finance team.
• Knowledge of relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements in the United Kingdom.
• Experience working within the engineering sector
• Experience working with R&D tax credits

• A strong finance leader with a competent and confident manner
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Good IT and systems knowledge able to manage and implement systems
• Strong emotional intelligence and empathetic approach
