Financial Accounts Manager

Up to £32k

Worcester – office based

Four Squared Recruitment are delighted to be working with a market leading retailer in order to recruit a Financial Accounts Manager on a full time, permanent basis.

The Financial Accounts Manager will play a critical role in the financial management of this organisation, a market leading retailer. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations, managing company finances, including creating financial reports, and ensuring the company’s financial health. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, has a strong background in accounting or finance, and possesses excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the accounts team (currently one person).
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of accounts.
  • Reconcile account balances to ensure financial accuracy
  • Ongoing review of financial plans, assessing the Company’s financial performance, and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure that Xero is correct and reflective of day-to-day business.
  • Oversee management of the budget.
  • Report on the budget at monthly board meetings and issue weekly commentary.
  • Identify budget variances and suggest corrective actions to align with the financial goals.
  • Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Submit Payroll details to our accountants.
  • Oversee the processing of payroll taxes.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to achieve financial objectives.
  • Keep up to date on the latest accounting and financial services legislation to ensure the companies legal and financial security.
  • Manage our Creditors and Debtors list, arranging payments and collecting outstanding balances.
  • Understanding of International VAT (Europe)
  • Leverage financial software and technology to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Keep abreast of market trends and economic conditions.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.


  • AAT (or equivalent) Level 3, at least.
  • Good understanding of Excel.
  • Proven experience as an Accounts Manager.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of budgets.
  • Proficiency with accounting software, ideally a stock system, and ideally Xero.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities with a commitment to developing and motivating teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organisational skills.
