 Operations Manager

£35-45k Bonus + company car/car allowance

As an Operations Manager, your role is crucial in managing and supporting all operational staff effectively. Work closely with the Depot Manager to execute works in line with our growth strategy and deliver excellent customer service.

Your Responsibilities:

As our Operations Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, ensuring efficiency and professionalism. Your role includes:

  • Managing equipment readiness and hiring additional resources when needed.
  • Planning and overseeing the maintenance of plant and vehicles.
  • Efficiently managing invoicing administration and reducing Work In Progress.
  • Effective communication with field staff, arranging meetings, and managing workforce scheduling.
  • Managing training, records, and arrangements for staff events.
  • Allocating jobs and selecting appropriately trained staff for safe and high-quality work.
  • Conducting health and safety inductions and overseeing probationary periods.
  • Undertaking site visits to ensure compliance with RAMS and safety standards.
  • Planning and conducting regular toolbox talks, audits, and inspections.
  • Identifying business development opportunities and reporting to the Depot Manager.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must possess relevant licence categories to operate and control vehicles.
  • Thorough understanding of RAMS documentation and the ability to work safely within its scope.
  • Willingness to undertake additional training for the division’s capability enhancement.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external clients.
  • Knowledge of environmental services-related works is desirable.
  • Essential construction and civils knowledge.
  • Experience in leading site teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure to deliver works within specified time frames.
