About the company:

My client are an independent, family run, agricultural engineering company situated North of Coventry.

The company is centred around agricultural and horticultural machinery servicing, repairs and maintenance as well as selling agricultural supplies and general machinery parts.

The role:

We are looking for a motivated Parts Advisor with initiative and ambition to join there growing team. The right candidate will be responsible for assisting with parts, including sourcing, ordering and maintaining our stock levels to support the efficient running of the business. Within this role there is an element of aiding with garden machinery sales.

Main Duties:

  • Ordering parts as required
  • Advising customers on correct parts both in store and over the phone
  • Support workshop technicians with parts identification
  • Oversee the processing of parts, from ordering, good receiving, labelling and displaying parts in the showroom.
  • Managing stock levels, placing orders when parts are low/out of stock and inline with seasonal requirements
  • Collection of parts from suppliers and delivery of parts to customers both locally and on occasion further afield.
  • Unloading deliveries
  • Organises and displaying current stock both in store and in the yard.
  • Basic garden machinery sales, support and advise efficiently with garden machinery sales

The candidate will:                                                                                         

  • Have excellent customer service skills as this is a hugely customer facing role with customer both members of the general public and farmers; along with colleagues and suppliers
  • Good verbal communication and via telephone – via email when required
  • Be responsible for taking payments – cash, cards and cheques
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Have an understanding of the parts process from ordering, pricing, and invoicing along with an awareness of stock control
  • A basic parts process knowledge

Ideal person skills:

  • You will be adaptable and able to work in a fast-past environment during busy times.
  • You will have good attention to deal
  • You will be self-motivated and use your own initiative and as part of a team
  • You will have good general computer skills and be familiar with internet use (essential) – must be able to look up parts and cross-reference across different websites and systems
  • You will have a good level of physical strength – some heavy lifting is required


  • Full clean drivers’ licence
  • Fork-lift licence desirable but training can be provided if required for the right candidate

Previous experience:

  • Knowledge of agricultural machinery (desirable) – with willingness to further develop knowledge
  • Experience in a customer facing role (experience working with farmers not essential but desirable)
  • Forklift experience
  • IBCOS Gold knowledge e (desirable)
